These are the four core tenants of the Alachua County Tax Collector’s Mission statement. The Senior Leadership Team of the Alachua County Tax Collector’s Office is dedicated to ensuring that our service to the public meets these standards and exceeds your expectations every day.
John Power
Tax Collector since 2014 and Chief Deputy for 14 years prior to that, John Power leads this team of professionals. John is a two-time graduate of the University of Florida and resides in Melrose with his family.
Jon Costabile
With decades of experience in finance and administration, Jon Costabile is the Chief Deputy Tax Collector. Jon is a two time UF graduate and resides in Gainesville with his family.
Marcian
Marcian joined the ACTC team in 2015, and serves as the Executive Director of Finance. Marcian comes to us with almost 20 years of government finance and budgeting experience. Marcian‘s finance team at ACTC is now the two time winner of the Florida Tax Collector Association’s Legacy Award for Fiscal Excellence. He also holds an MBA from Nova Southeastern University and a BS in Finance from the University of Florida.
Rita
With more than 20 years in state and local government, Rita is the Executive Director of Public Service. Rita oversees four offices that serve customers throughout Alachua County. Rita’s staff handles motor vehicle registrations, driver license issuance, hunting and fishing license issuance, birth certificates, concealed weapons applications, and property tax collection. Rita began work with the ACTC in 2011 after a lengthy career with the City of High Springs.
Matt
Another UF graduate, Matt is head of the ACTC‘s Tax Operations. Matt is a Certified Florida Collector’s Assistant (CFCA), a Certified Public Manager (CPM), and has 25 years of experience with the Alachua County Tax Collector’s Office. Matt resides in Gainesville with his family.
Linda
With more than 20 years of experience, Linda serves as our Human Resources Administrator. Linda is charged with all onboarding and offboarding as well as handling benefit elections for staff.
Venus
Since 1995, Venus has been serving the public with the ACTC. She has served in a number of roles in the organization, most recently being promoted to the Director of Public Service for the Downtown Gainesville location.
Valerie
With 26 years of experience, Valerie now serves as the Director of Public Services for the Northwest Gainesville location. Valerie is a lifelong citizen of Alachua County and is dedicated to providing quality customer service to the public.
Lori
Lori oversees the Communications and Processing Center, which consists of the call center, quality assurance, mail department, and dealer services. Lori has 18 years of experience and has been with the ACTC since 1999.
Kyle
Our 2015 Star Performer of the Year, Kyle presently serves as the Executive Assistant to John Power and is ACTC’s Public Outreach Administrator. Kyle is also a graduate of the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications and a passionate Gator fan.
